The preparations for EuropeMasters 2008 edition are in full progress. Due to high costs of organising a international tournament the admittance fee for the Spiel fair is not included in the registration fee. But as Spiel is a multiday event, teams could purchase a multiday entrance pass, which gives a big discount on the total of entry fees.
For teams/players not yet familiarly with the concept of the European championships please look around at this website and feel free to contact the organization per email:

. Of course everybody else is welcome to do also.
Also the organization would like to come into contact with players/gaming groups or organizations, who might be interested to participate or are willing to provide support to this event. The organization would like to have contacts in all European countries (see also Forum).
Teams interested to participate can register by sending an email. Note that the organisation can request that you should take part at a national/regional championship to qualify for EuropeMasters.

In case no national/regional championships are held in your country, you can send a registration request for your team to us directly. These registrations are handled on sequence of receipt by the organization.
A team should consists of a team captain and 3 other team members. Preferable you will have a reserve player as well, in case someone from your team has to forfeit in the last moment.
Why Participate
3 reasons to participate:
- To meet and play against other active players from different nationalities
- To have a great playing time and lots of fun
- ...And who does not want to become European champions?
So it is not only pure competition, there is a big element of joy to play.
Wich Games?
Each year we try to find challenging games, released in the last year (measured from Spiel to Spiel). We select the games based on minimum of luck, difference in gaming mechanisms and gaming fun. Of our short lists we publish our nominees. From these games we select a mix of 4 games to be played at the tournaments. For this selection we look at the overall playing time and having different gaming mechanisms.
A set of the games will be provided prior the tournament and give all teams a chance to train and learning the rules. And provide rule clarifications if needed.
Is it necessary to train? First of all it is expected that all team members know the rules. Second if you would like to make a chance of becoming European champions then yes you should practice, practice and practice. The games played are not based on luck, but the best tacticians will be able to turn the game into their favour and win!
Costs
The organization has to ask a participation fee of Euro 85.- per team (we have to increase the participation fee slightly due to increased costs). In return you receive:
- A set of the 4 games to be played during the championship will be send in advance of the tournament for training purposes. This set becomes property of the team.
- Another set of the games after the tournament. The team captain collects the games played during the tournament.
- A chance to win the European title and nice prizes and certain loads of fun gaming time.
